Checkmate to Excellence: U-11 Girls Chess Team Secures Second Position at CBSE Far East Zone

The young chess talents of SAI International School have added another feather to the school’s cap by securing the Second Position in the U-11 Girls category at the CBSE Far East Zone Team Chess Championship 2026–27. The championship brought together promising young chess players from schools across the Far East Zone, with the event being conducted at KT Global School, Khordha, Bhubaneswar. The championship was held from 27 to 29 August 2026. The SAI International School team displayed remarkable focus, strategic thinking, confidence and sporting spirit throughout the competition. The young SAIoneers competed with determination and composure, making every move count and showcasing their growing prowess on the chessboard. The team comprised Dibya Dristi Satapathy, Daanya Chakraborty, Shreyasi Marimganti and Sriyani Das. Together, the players contributed to an impressive team performance, securing 4 Match Points and 7 Game Points to finish as the proud runners-up. Among the individual performances, Dibya Dristi Satapathy stood out with a perfect score of 3 points from 3 games, contributing significantly to the team's success.
