SAIoneers Shine at the 62nd All Odisha State Swimming Championship’22

We are pleased to announce that our SAIoneers accomplished several well-acclaimed accolades in the 62nd Odisha State Swimming Championship’22 (Junior & Sub-junior) that commenced at the Biju Patnaik Swimming Pool, Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar from May 28, 2022 till June 30, 2022. It was splendid to see our SAIoneers secure 1st, 2nd & 3rd ranks in 50m/100m/200m/400m Freestyle, 50m/100m Backstroke, 50m/100m/200m Breaststroke, 50m Butterfly & 200m Individual Medley & Relays.
The 62nd All Odisha State Swimming Championship’22 (Junior & Sub-junior) was organised jointly by the Odisha State Swimming Association and Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha. This year a record number of 258 swimmers participated in the tournament that was streamed live on the YouTube Channel of Sports Odisha. Our SAIoneers outdid themselves yet again in the championship. SAIoneer Mannata Mishra of Class X was declared as the ‘best swimmer’ of the championship with 2134 FINA points in the Girls category.
During the 3-day tournament, Hon’ble sports Minister, Shri Tusharkanti Behera, Commissioner cum Secretary, Sports & Youth Services were the guests on the 1st day and Olympian Padmashree Dilip Tirki graced the championship with his presence as chief guest on the 2nd day. On the last day, the swimmers were awarded the medals and trophies by Mrs. Soma Mishra, Mrs. Golapmani Mahanta, Shri Bijay Kumar Dixit, Shri Surendra Kumar Naik, Shri Amar Ranjan Mahanty, Shri Lakshmi Chandra Mahakur, Shri Rabindra Kumar Rout, Shri Manoj Banchhor & Mrs. Lipsa Rout. JSW Group, the Multinational conglomerate, Odisha provided the required technical support to the tournament.
The eligible swimmers shall represent Odisha at the National Aquatic Championship’22 (Sub-Junior) to be held at Rajkot from June 24 to June 26, 2022 and Juniors National at Bhubaneswar from July 16 to July 20, 2022. The office bearers of the Association graciously congratulated the medal winners and all the participants. The Association also expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to the Government of Odisha for support and sponsorship of the championship. SAI International is immensely proud of all the SAIoneers who participated in this championship and wishes them the heartiest congratulations for unlocking such paramount milestones in the sports terrain.
